BATU PAHAT: Three women extorted RM6,000 from a 63-year-old fishcake trader in an incident at a hotel room on Oct 6.
Batu Pahat district police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Wahib Musa said the 4.25pm incident occurred when the businessman was lured by a woman in her 20s from a supermarket in Taman Soga.
“The woman asked the victim to send her to the Summit Hotel. When they arrived, she took the victim up to a 13th floor room.
“Two other women, the mother and elder sister of the first woman, entered the room, took photos of the man and demanded for money," said Wahib.
The trio warned the man that they would go after him if he refused to give the money, so he relented.
Wahib said the women called the man two days later and demanded for another RM3,000.
He said the victim later lodged a police report against the women as they threatened to distribute his photos in the room if he refused to give more money.
The case is being investigated under Section 384 of the Penal Code for extortion.
