KUALA NERUS: The second of two missing 13-year-olds who went missing during a swim near Lorong Merpati beach here has been found dead.
The victim, identified as Ahmad Baihaqi Muzanni Nor Shariman, was found at 10.35pm last night, about 500 metres from the spot where he was last seen.
The body of his friend, Mohd Mujahid Mohd Zuni, was recovered at 7.10pm yesterday, but was tangled up in a net the search and rescue team was using to drag a section of the beach.
State Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Rozizah Abnihajar said it is believed Baihaqi and Mujahid, both from Taman Permint Perdana, Seberang Takir, were swimming at the scene at around 5.15pm yesterday.
She said Baihaqi's body was sent to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital for a post-mortem.
Meanwhile, in Dungun, four teenagers who were left stranded on a hill in Kampong Telok Gadong when the high tide came in, were rescued this morning.
The 15 year-olds from Dungun, identified as Tengku Mohammad Nazrein Tengku Mohd Faisal, Saniy Syahmi Mohd Safiee, Tuan Ahmad Ashraf Tuan Mohd Safie and Mohd Amri Muhammad Nazat, were rescued after their three hour ordeal.
District Fire and Rescue station personnel Amri Mohamad said the station received a distress call from one of the victim's mothers at 7.37pm.
He said the boys were safely brought down from the hill by a search and rescue unit using a length of rope.
"Initial information revealed that the boys had gone to the hill for a spot of sightseeing and scenery picture-taking at around 2.30pm," he said.
Unfortunately, while on their way down from the hill at 5pm, the high tide suddenly rose and left them stranded.
