KUALA LUMPUR: American Muslim scholar Anse Tamara Gray will be in Malaysia on Jan 16 to deliver a talk on spirituality and the importance of striking a balance in Islam.
The session, titled ‘Getting It Right: Faith, Godly Deeds And Worldly Needs’, will address issues such as striking a balance between attaining a high level of sacred knowledge while achieving worldly success, as well as reviving the age of nurturing when women in particular had an immeasurable impact on society.
It will be held at Pusat Komuniti HAK, Lot 2832, Jln Sg Penchala, Kampung Sg Penchala, KL from 8.30pm to 10pm. Admission is free.
Anse Tamara is the founder of Rabata, an organisation dedicated to promoting positive cultural change through individual empowerment, spiritual upbringing of women by women, and the revival of the female voice in scholarship.
Having lived in Syria for 20 years, she has also had her works published, the most recent being an interactive journal called Joy Jots: Exercises for a Happy Heart, which takes the reader through 52 weeks of growth, discovery and joyful outreach.
