KOTA KINABALU: The magistrate’s court here fixed March 14 to re-mention the case of a bouncer charged with the brutal murder of a teenage boy.
Magistrate Jessica Ombou Kakayun ordered the new date pending necessary documents from the prosecution.
The accused, Mohd Azmin Lidin from Kampung Cenderamata Likas near here, was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murdering Yaacob Nasran outside the Siam Thai Bar at Asia City on Dec 15.
His lawyer, Datuk Seri K. Rakhbir Singh, said the available documents include charge sheet, 11 police reports and a few others.
“We are still waiting for the post mortem and chemistry reports, as well as police photographs.
“If there is no post-mortem report, it means no body – thus no murdering,” he said when met at the court.
Prosecuting officer Inspector Rasydan Jasnin prosecuted.
On Dec 15, Yaacob, along with his brother and six other friends, were attacked by a group of men armed with swords.
The 18-year-old boy was slashed to death while protecting a friend during the attack.
Several others, including his brother, were injured.
