NILAI: Young and aspiring footballers who dream of becoming the next Cristiano Ronaldo or Gareth Bale will now get the chance to train with professional coaches from the Real Madrid Foundation Clinics.
To be held for the first time in Malaysia between July 23 and August 5, the football clinics will be held at Epsom College in Bandar Enstek, conducted by coaches from the club, aiming to deliver world-class football training to young Malaysians.
The residential clinic will teach values to young Malaysians which can help mould participants into outstanding individuals on and off the field and promote values which are inherent in football such as leadership, teamwork, respect and humility.
Epsom College in Malaysia chairman of governors Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said the clinics will enable heightened focus on youth football as well as improve their attributes on and off the field such as by working hard and respecting their elders.
"This clinic will enable youths to have better focus and empowerment on football and can give ideas to local coaches on developing the game further," Fernandes told reporters here at the launch of the clinics.
Real Madrid Foundation Global head of campus and clinics Andres Muntaner said the clinics promote values which contribute to the comprehensive development of young players and aid in the physical, mental and emotional development of participants.
The clinics are open to boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 17 and they get to train with Real Madrid coaches who have brought their world-class training methodology to 35,000 players in over 40 countries in just 2016 alone.
