KUALA LUMPUR: Images have emerged of what is claimed to be one of the female assassins who killed Kim Jong-nam, who is the half brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Local media was awash today with what was believed to be a CCTV capture of the woman, said to be standing outside the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2).
The woman, with shoulder length hair, was garbed in a light coloured top bearing the word ‘LOL’, a skirt and a handbag.
An image of what was believed to be the same woman was earlier shared on social media, albeit taken from a further distance.
Observers have claimed that the image was taken just outside klia2.
Reports have suggested that two female assassins were responsible for killing Jong-nam on Monday, just before he was due to board a flight to Macau.
Jong-nam had said someone had wiped his face with a liquid substance, which left him dizzy. He had sought help from airport staff, who then summoned an ambulance for him.
However, he died on his way to the Putrajaya Hospital.
His body has since been transferred to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The post-mortem exam is expected to be completed today.
South Korean media reported that Jong-nam's family will most likely receive custody of his body after the autopsy is carried out, and not North Korea.
