KUALA LUMPUR: World No 1 Lee Chong Wei reached his seventh All England Final after seeing off Taiwan's Chou Tien Chen in the semi-finals today.
The 35-year-old Malaysian, who almost did not make the trip following a torn medial collateral ligament (MCL) last month, defeated his world No 9 opponent 10-21, 21-14, 21-9 at the Barclaycard Arena.
Chong Wei, a three-time champion in Birmingham, last clinched the crown in 2014.
The three-time Olympic silver medallist will go on to face the winner of the match between China's Lin Dan and his compatriot Shi Yuqi.
Both Chong Wei and Lin Dan have played in three previous All England finals.
Five-time world champion Lin Dan had won on two occasions (2009, 2013) while Chong Wei won his second title against the China ace in 2011.
