Najib officiates new Malaysian High Commission complex in New Delhi

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak tonight officiated the new Malaysian High Commission complex in India.

Najib, who was accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, signed a plaque to commemorate the official opening of the complex after a ribbon-cutting ceremony. He later gave a briefing on the new complex.

Also present were Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, Health MInister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam, Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican,

Foreign Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Ramlan Ibrahim, High Commissioner to India Datuk Hidayat Abdul Hamid and Special Envoy of Infrastructure to India and Southern Asia Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu.

Works on the complex started in 2013 and was completed in June 2015, costing RM121 million. Four blocks sit on 2.2 hectares; namely the High Commissioner residence,

Multipurpose hall, Chancery building and staff housing complex.
