MACC arrests 'Tan Sri' over graft probe

KUALA LUMPUR: A businessman with a ‘Tan Sri’ title was arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) this morning.

The suspect, who is a contractor appointed by the Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID), was arrested for allegedly submitting fraudulent claims to the department.

It is learnt that the claims were related to the supply of geo-tubes for river restoration works for the DID.

The 63-year-old suspect was arrested at his home in Johor around 10.30am.

MACC deputy commissioner of operations Datuk Azam Baki confirmed the arrest.
