Bride-to-be actress counts down to her wedding day
AWARD-WINNING actress Siti Saleha Baharom has slightly more than three months to go before she ties the knot on July 29.
The 27-year-old popular artiste revealed the date after a press conference on Drama Festival Kuala Lumpur (DFKL) 2017 in Seri Pentas, Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, recently.
“It’s always good to mark a milestone in your life close to another auspicious day, Hari Raya.
“It is my favourite time of the year, and thus tying the knot soon after that means a non-stop celebration to cherish forever,” she said.
Saleha is set to wed her 30-year-old fiance Lutfi Azhar, a civil servant from Kuala Lumpur and a long-time fan of the celebrity. The couple got engaged in November last year.
The actress, who won an Anugerah Bintang Popular BH (ABPBH) award in 2013 and 2014 for Popular Film Actress, admitted being thrilled about sharing her future with her husband-to-be.
“We have a lot in common and I can’t wait to be able to do things together as a married couple.
“Besides our love of watching movies, we also love travelling to destinations rich in culture,” she said.
Viewing herself and Lutfi as a very open-minded couple, she is hopeful that whatever problems they encounter as husband and wife can be resolved without being confrontational.
“We understand each other, and we’ve always managed to iron out our differences amicably,” she added.
Saleha said Lutfi understood her work as an actress.
“He doesn’t cringe seeing me in a loving moment with my male co-star. He’s very aware that being a good actress means getting into character and making romance look real.
“Instead of being jealous or annoyed, Lutfi would always commend me when I portray the character believably.”
Does she expect any “change” once she becomes a Mrs?
Saleha doesn’t think so except maybe when motherhood comes knocking on her door.
“That time will eventually come, but that only means slowing down my work, that’s all,” said the sister of Bunkface frontman, Sam.
Saleha is up for Choice Actress for the drama series 7 Hari Mencintaiku at Anugerah DFKL 2017 tomorrow. It will be beamed live from Putrajaya International Convention Centre at 9pm on TV3.
DFKL 2017 is in its fourth year and comprises a short drama competition, pitching session, workshop and talent search. Anugerah DFKL, being the highlight of the event, is held to celebrate outstanding dramas and telemovies screened on TV3 and TV9 last year. It will see 11 award categories, including Choice Actor, Actress, Antagonist, Drama, Director and Screen Couple.
