MUKAH: For almost three years, a 14-year-old student kept an agonising secret to himself - that he had been sodomised by his school teacher more than 50 times.
His nightmare began two years ago when the boy was a Standard Six pupil at a boarding school in Kapit.
The teacher was based at the same school.
“The boy’s nightmare started when the teacher invited the victim to his quarters to stay overnight in August 2015.
“Since then, the boy became the object of lust of his teacher. He was sodomised for more 20 times at the teachers’ quarters during the same period.
“The victim also claimed that one of the incidents took place at a budget hotel in Kapit,” sources said.
Sources added that the victim’s ordeal continued when he enrolled into a secondary school in Mukah.
“The victim was so traumatised and afraid that he agreed to meet the teacher when the latter was in Mukah.
“He claimed he was sodomised for more than 30 times at a house in Kemunyang and a budget hotel here last year.
“The teacher’s heinous behaviour continued when he engaged in sex with the victim until May this year,” sources said.
Mukah district police chief Deputy Superintendent Jimmy Panyau said the victim could no longer contain his suffering and later related his woes to a teacher at his current school.
The teacher, shocked by the victim’s revelation, lodged a police report on Tuesday.
Police picked up a 42-year-old teacher from the boarding school to facilitate investigation into the case at 10.45am on the same day.
“The victim has been sent to the hospital for medical examination,” he said.
Meanwhile, State Education Department director Rakayah Madon confirmed she had received reports over the case.
“The department is waiting for the outcome of police investigation into the case.
“If it is proven that the allegation is true, the department will not hesitate to enforce strict action against the teacher including terminating his employment,” she told the New Straits Times today.
