SHAH ALAM: Police have completed their investigations into the case involving a Datuk, who was arrested for allegedly harassing a nurse at a private hospital in Subang Jaya.
Selangor police chief Datuk Mazlan Mansor said the investigation paper has been handed over to the Deputy Public Prosecutor's office for scrutiny and next course of action.
“We are currently awaiting the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s decision,” he told reporters after launching the handing over ceremony of a Proton Persona to the Selangor police' Strategic Resources and Technology Department (StaRT) here today.
Mazlan also confirmed that the Datuk, a chief executive officer of a real estate and investment company is currently on police bail.
The 58-year-old man was arrested on Sept 12 following a police report lodged against him.
It was reported that the 19-year-old victim lodged a report claiming that she was sexually harassed by her patient about 7.30pm on Sept 9.
The man, who was warded at the hospital when the incident took place had allegedly grabbed her buttock, bosom and kissed her while she was on duty.
Meanwhile, on an assault case in Klang, where a man was whipped with a rattan cane during a dispute with a neighbour in Jalan Jarak recently, Mazlan said two suspects have been arrested.
“We have been hunting for the perpetrators all this while, finally they decided to surrender to us at the North Klang District police station,” he said.
The duo from Klang, aged 38 and 39, have been remanded for three days, from Sept 19 to Sept 21.
The incident, which is believed to have taken place at the victim’s house here, was caught on camera and the one-minute video has since gone viral.
In the 3.15pm incident, the 52-year-old man was allegedly attacked by the neighbour on Sept 6 following an earlier argument involving the victim.
The video shows the victim, who was shirtless and forced to kneel, repeatedly assaulted by the neighbour with a rattan measuring about a metre.
The man, who sustained injuries on his shoulder, thigh, buttocks and calf, sought treatment at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital before lodging a report at the Bandar Baru Klang police station.
It was reported that the incident occurred when the victim scolded a 60-year-old neighbour, who had showed up at the former’s house to intervene in a domestic dispute.
The victim had supposedly used abusive language against the neighbour, who subsequently left the house.
A second neighbour went to the victim’s house and reprimanded him. He then picked up a rattan cane and began assaulting the victim.
