SHAH ALAM: A police corporal and three of his superiors have been transferred following an alleged party that was hosted at a police station here.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said based on their investigations, the incident occurred in the early hours of Sept 28.
"This police personnel (the corporal) brought in four civilians into the police station after hours.
"Our investigations revealed that they were listening to music and there was also some food there," he told reporters.
He said civilians were not allowed into police stations if they have no official reason to be there.
"The corporal was transferred out immediately. Not only that, we also transferred out three of his superiors, involving one sergeant, one sergeant major and an inspector," he said.
Hussein said the transfer of the three superiors was in line with Rule 3C of the Public Officers Regulations (Conduct and Discipline) 1993.
"This is because they failed to supervise their subordinates which led to him committing misconduct.
"All of them have been transferred out of the Criminal Investigation Department. One of them has been transfered to Johor while another has been sent to Kelantan," he said.
Meanwhile, Hussein rubbished claims that a police station chief was among three personnel arrested after they tested positive for drugs.
State police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the three policemen arrested were only rank and file personnel.
"There is no truth to reports that claimed one of them was a police station chief. We advise members of the media to only publish articles based on verified information," he said.
He said this after it was reported that three policemen who were arrested while partying at an entertainment centre in Taman Dutamas, Cheras, were found to be positive for drugs.
The three, aged between 37 and 57, serve under the Kajang police district.
They were among 14 individuals arrested during a police raid at the entertainment centre in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Immediate action had been taken to transfer the three policemen involved to the Management Department of the Selangor police headquarters while awaiting investigation results.
Hussein said that a disciplinary investigation would follow for internal action by the police.
Officers and personnel are prohibited from being in entertainment centres unless on official duty
