KUALA LUMPUR: Police today brought one of the seven suspects linked to the deadly Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah tahfiz school fire, to the scene of the crime in Datuk Keramat this morning.
A van carrying police officers and the 16-year old suspect arrived at the scene about 11.50am.
The teenager, handcuffed and his face concealed in a mask, was brought into the school compound before being led to the back of the building.
He is believed to have been brought there to reenact the scenes which took place just before the fire on Sept 14.
They spent 10 minutes there before using the staircase behind the building to access the upper floor.
The policemen and the suspect left the school about 12.50pm.
Police had beefed up security around the school to prevent the media and members of the public from taking pictures of the suspect.
Federal and City Forensic units were also seen combing the area and taking pictures to complete their investigations.
About 5am on Sept 14, a fire broke out at the third floor of the school, killing 21 students and two hostel wardens.
City police chief Datuk Amar Singh, on Saturday night, confirmed the arrest of seven individuals, aged between 11 and 18, to facilitate investigations into the case, which was believed to have been triggered by revenge.
The remand on the suspects will end tomorrow. It remains unknown whether police would request for a remand extension.
