Cosmetics seller killed in knife attack by foreigners at Sri Muda night market

SHAH ALAM: A cosmetics seller who just recently started his business at a night market here was killed in an attack by four men believed to be Indonesians.

The 29-year-old identified as Mohd Nor Syazrin Rasdi from Kupang, Kedah was with a woman and two foreign employees when he was attacked at the Sri Muda night market at Section 25.

District police chief Assistant Commisioner Shafien Mamat said the deceased had wounds on his neck and body when found at the scene where one of his Indonesian worker was also injured.

The body was found by the police that was dispatched to the scene following a report of a man who had his throat slit at about 9.05pm last night, Shafien said.

Investigations are continuing to determine the motive behind the attack and statements from two of those who worked for the victim will be recorded, he said.

“It is believed the man had just started his business at the night market,” he said adding a manhunt is on to trackdown the suspects and find the weapon used in the attack.

The case have been classified as murder, Shafien added.
