JOHOR BARU: A director-cum-producer of an advertisment company based here was called by police to have his statement recorded in the case of actor Datuk Farid Kamil who alleged that his drink was spiked with drugs.
Johor Baru South District Police, Chief Assistant Commissioner Shahurinain Jais said the man, identified as Ahmad Fairuz Ahmad Rusli, 47, who was a former nasyid singer, was among two people police were looking for to faclitate investigations in Farid's case.
Farid had lodged a police report on Jan 31 at the Taman Tun Dr Ismail police station about his drink being spiked.
"The person was called to have his statement recorded and to do a urine test at 5am today," he said.
Shahruinain said the urine test result was being analysed. No arrest had been made.
Fairuz's lawyers Muhamad Akmal Arif Shamsul Kahar and Mohammad Ashmeer Mohammad Ashrof Raja were with him.
Akmal said a follow up report will be made at a police station in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow and there will be a press conference later.
