KUALA LUMPUR: A female Grab driver claimed to have been sexually harassed by a passenger last Thursday.
Dang Wangi district police chief Assistant Commissioner Shaharuddin Abdullah said the victim accepted a ride request from a foreigner at 6.30am at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman.
The passenger, a man, asked to be sent to Taman Subang Damai in Shah Alam.
"However, along the way the victim noticed the man started to touch his private part.
"The suspect looked at the victim who was driving and continued to touch his private part," Shaharuddin said when contacted today.
He added that when the victim was passing the Sprint Highway near Damansara, she began to smell something weird coming from the back seat.
"The victim then chided the suspect before stopping her car at the toll plaza where she asked the suspect to get out.
"The suspect did not want to and the victim then asked for help from a toll booth operator before lodging a police report," he said, adding that investigation was ongoing.
"The case is being investigated under Section 509 and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955," he informed.
