KUALA LUMPUR: Helmet wielding motorcyclist suspected of smashing the windscreen of a car was picked up by cops at 3pm today, Serdang Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Ismadi Borhan confirms.
He said the man's motorcycle and helmet were also seized during the arrest.
A request for remand would be made under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code at the Petaling Jaya Court.
"Further investigations will be carried out," he added.
Ismadi said the man, in his 30s, works as a factory store assistant in Balakong.
Dubbed "Abang Botak" by Netizens, the motorcyclist was caught on camera slamming his helmet into the windscreen of a Perodua Axia.
A 2-minute clip recorded by the Axia's dashcam saw the suspect and a friend having a conversation while still riding their motorcycles on the road.
Ismadi earlier said the driver of the Axia, a 22-year-old cake shop worker, was driving when two men riding motorcycles appeared to be hogging the lane.
He said it was believed that the motorcyclists were unsatisfied with the driver for honking at them.
The clip went viral since it was shared on Twitter by @999Malaysia last night.
The post, captioned “Borak macam dekat kedai kopi atas jalanraya...bila kena hon, marah dan pecahkan cermin kereta pengguna jalanraya yg lain..harap PDRM tangkap pembuli/samseng jalanraya.” (Chatting on the road like they are at the coffee shop… when you get honked at, you get angry and breaks other people’s windscreen… hope the police will catch this bully/road gangster)
