Student who stabbed teacher remanded

KUALA LANGAT: A TEACHER at a religious secondary school here was stabbed with a knife by a Form Five student on Sunday.

Kuala Langat police chief Superintendent Mohd Azizan Tukiman said the incident was due to a grudge held by the student against the teacher for admonishing him.

He said investigations revealed that the student had failed in several subjects last month.

“Dissatisfied and stressed (for being admonished), the suspect waited for the victim outside the teacher’s office on the ground floor of the hostel.

“As the victim was entering his office, the suspect stabbed him with a knife on the shoulder.”

Azizan said upon receiving a call, police arrived at the scene at 8.30pm and found that the knife used in the attack was still embedded in the victim’s shoulder.

“The 17-year-old has since been remanded for five days.”

He said the case was being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means.

He said the teacher who received initial treatment at Banting Hospital was transferred to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital and was in stable condition.
