SHAH ALAM: Ex-Pas deputy president Datuk Dr Nasharudin Mat Isa was slapped with 33 charges of criminal breach of trust (CBT) and money laundering involving RM4 million at the Sessions Court here, today.
He pleaded not guilty to 30 counts of CBT under Section 409 of the Penal Code involving RM3.7 million; and three counts under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 involving RM302,069.60.
Nasharudin, who is also former chief executive officer of the Global Movement of Moderates Foundation (GMMF) and Bachok MP, is alleged to have committed the offences between 2018 and 2015.
Clad in a white shirt and black blazer, Nasharudin was calm and composed when two court interpreters took about 20 minutes to read out all the charges before judge Rozilah Salleh.
Rozilah allowed bail of RM330,000 for all charges in one surety; and ordered Nasharudin’s international passport to be surrendered to the court.
