Three Nepalese arrested for murder

JOHOR BARU: Police have arrested three Nepalese men in connection with the murder of a man whose body was found in Kulai early Tuesday morning.

Kulai police chief Superintendent Tok Beng Yeow said the three suspects were arrested in Indahpura and Indahpura Industrial Area between 11.30am and 12.30pm the same day.

"Earlier that morning, at about 4.20am, a police patrol team from the Kulai police station found the body of a man suspected to be a Nepalese on the five-foot way of a business premise in Indahpura Industrial Area.

"The forensics team found the victim had several bruises on his face and blood was coming out of his mouth.

"No objects or items that can be used as a weapon were found at the scene and the police did not discount the possibility that the victim was involved in a fight," said Tok.

He said the body was taken to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital for a post mortem and the result showed that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the abdomen.

"Acting on tip-offs, we arrested the suspects aged between 23 and 37. They have been remanded to help with the investigation," said Tok.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
