JOHOR BARU: A Johor Department of Environment officer was fined RM3,000 at the Sessions Court here after he pleaded guilty to a graft charge.
Shamsul Adli Mohd Ali, a senior environmental control officer with the department, received an amount of money via an account belonging to his company Mesra Sumber Global from an individual related to his official position.
He pleaded guilty before Judge Kamarudin Kamsun.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Ikhwan Ihsan appeared for the prosecution while the accused was represented by counsel Mohd Shahrullah Khan Nawab Zadah Khan.
