KOTA BARU: Two policemen were arrested for outraging the modesty of a woman in Pengkalan Chepa near here last week.
The 30-year-old constable and 35-year-old lance corporal were detained after a police report was lodged by the woman's companion on Sunday.
Kelantan police chief Deputy Commissioner Shafien Mamat said in the report, the victim claimed the incident happened about 10.45pm on Dec 4.
"In her report, the victim claimed she was in a car with her male partner, in his 20s, and they were approached by two policemen in a patrol car.
"Apart from being molested, she claimed that the two had ordered her to commit carnal intercourse with them.
"The couple also said the two policemen extorted more than RM1,200 from them," he told reporters here today.
Shafien said the two policemen attached to Kota Baru district police station, had been remanded until Dec 12 to facilitate police investigation into the case.
"I would like to stress here that as the state police chief, l will neither tolerate nor compromise with those caught committing crime as it will tarnish the force's image," he added.
The case is being investigated under three offences - Section 354 of the Penal Code for using criminal force to outrage the modesty; Section 377c of the same code for committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature without consent; and for commiting extortion under Section 384 of Penal Code.
