KUALA LUMPUR: Police are looking for a man with the title of "Datuk" suspected of assaulting a patron at a restaurant in Tropicana Avenue in Petaling Jaya on Tuesday.
The suspect allegedly hit the man after he had advised the suspect not to make too much noise in the 8.30pm incident.
Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Nik Ezanee Nik Faisal said the suspect hit the victim with his hand and is suspected to have also slapped a female patron at the restaurant before leaving.
"We have received the report related to the incident from the victim who works as a manager and we are now searching for the suspect," he told Bernama today.
He said the case was being investigated under Sections 323, 503 and 506 of the Penal Code.
The incident which was circulated on social media today shows a group trying to calm a man who allegedly punched an individual who was a customer at the said restaurant.
