Fahmi Reza out on bail

KUALA LUMPUR: Graphic designer Mohd Fahmi Reza Mohd Zarin, who was detained by the police for allegedly insulting Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, has been freed on bail today.

Mohd Fahmi said the police acted professionally and there was no brutality against him throughout his arrest.

He said his case could possibly see him being charged in court but he said he was ready to face it.

"I will answer everything related to my artwork in court, if it is brought there. Right now, I am still subjected to police investigations.

"They are completing the gathering of forensic evidence and will submit it to the Attorney-General for further action," he told reporters at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters, here, today.

He added that his belongings such as a laptop, two handphones, a modem as well as a router, had been seized.

Mohd Fahmi was also adamant on not deleting the Facebook post he had uploaded which had allegedly insulted the Raja Permaisuri Agong.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Huzir Mohamed yesterday said they had arrested Mohd Fahmi in Kuala Lumpur.

The case is being probed under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
