Second suspect arrested over murder of man found buried in Tapah oil palm estate

IPOH: Police have arrested another suspect in connection with the murder of a 29-year-old man, who was found buried in an oil palm plantation in Bidor, Tapah.

Perak police chief Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said that the man was arrested in Taiping this morning.

"We arrested the second suspect in Taiping this morning. We will apply for a remand order against him," he said after opening the Terminal Amanjaya 'pondok polis' here today.

He said the post-mortem examination on the victim at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital today revealed that he died of multiple injuries sustained from blunt and sharp objects.

"Based on the post-mortem, the victim died about three months ago," he said.

The man was reported missing four months ago.

The body was found after police arrested a 30-year-old man at the Dengkil Rest and Recreation (R&R) area on Tuesday.

He said police received a report that a 29-year-old man was kidnapped on Oct 3 last year at about 10am.

"Initial investigations revealed that the victim and his friend were at a fish pond in Kampung Poh, Bidor, when the victim was attacked by two men armed with pieces of wood," he said.

Mior Faridalathrash said it was learnt that the cause of the incident was due to a debt problem between the victim and the suspects.
