KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court today ordered the disputed building of Wisma MyPPP near Kampung Attap to be surrendered to the Director General of Insolvency (DGI).
Judicial Commissioner Ong Chee Kwan also ordered 100,000 shares in Bintang Iradat (M) Sdn Bhd - a company utilised as the investment and corporate entity that acted for and on behalf of the People's Progressive Party (myPPP) to be surrendered to DGI.
He made the ruling in a lawsuit by 12 former myPPP members against its former president Tan Sri M. Kayveas for allegedly transferring the building ownership without consent.
DGI has been appointed to administer the assets of myPPP, following its de-registration on Jan 14, 2019.
Counsel Gavin Jay Anand Jayapal who represented all the plaintiffs said the court also ordered permeant injunction to stop Kayveas from transferring the shares of Bintang Iradat.
"The judge also ordered the building to be vacated," he said when met after the proceedings.
The 12 former myPPP members including Datuk Seri Maglin Dennis D'Cruz filed the suit in 2019.
In their statement of claim, the plaintiffs alleged Keyveas had created an illegal conspiracy before the de-registration of the party in November 2018.
It claimed that the conspirators intended to cause loss, harm and damage to the members of myPPP, who would all be entitled to the distribution of the assets of myPPP upon its de- registration.
The plaintiffs are seeking a declaration that Bintang Iradat is the property of myPPP and shall vest in the DGI following from the de- registration on Jan 14, 2019.
They are also seeking a mandatory injunction for the defendant to vacate and grant vacant possession of Wisma myPPP to the DGI.
