KUANTAN: The factory worker who was sentenced to seven days behind bars today for voluntarily causing hurt and threatening a female driver is expected to be hit with other charges in Pahang.
The 29-year-old suspect had allegedly uttered abusive words towards restaurant workers in Cameron Highlands on June 4, and even slapped one of them.
Pahang police chief Datuk Yahaya Othman said a restaurant worker had lodged a report at the Cameron Highlands police station against the same man on June 7 and police were in the midst of completing their probe.
"Investigations revealed the suspect had slapped one of the workers repeatedly because the food he ordered arrived late while another worker was hit when he tried explaining to the suspect that the dish he ordered was not available.
"Police will call up several witnesses to complete our investigations on the incident," he said.
Yahaya said investigations were carried out under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act for using abusive words.
Earlier today, the Tapah magistrate's court in Perak ordered Mohammad Zaim Faiz Tarmizi to serve seven days in jail after he pleaded guilty to charges of voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
Yesterday, a TikTok user in a video, had claimed that the man who was filmed hurling abusive words and hitting a female driver's head in a viral video had slapped a restaurant worker before the incident.
