Tapah road bully breaks down when court sentences him to 9 days in jail

TAPAH: A man sentenced to a week in jail for assaulting a female driver in Lata Iskandar cried in the dock when he was incarcerated for the second time today. 

Mohammad Zaim Faiz Tarmizi, 29, who was just released yesterday, was handed a nine-day jail term and a RM2,000 fine by magistrate Qasiratuljannah Usmani Othman when he pleaded guilty to assaulting two men this month.  

The factory supervisor is accused of voluntarily causing hurt  to two steamboat restaurant waiters, Samir Das and V. Dennis Pillai, near Tanah Rata at 4.20pm on June 4. 

The offence, under Section 323 of the Penal Code, provides for imprisonment of up to two years, a fine of up to RM2,000 or both, upon conviction. 

Deputy public prosecutor S. Punitha pressed for a deterrent sentence against the accused as the case involved the public interest.  Zaim, who was unrepresented, could not hold back his tears when he plead for leniency, stating that he needed to support his wife, who is due to deliver their second child by the end of this month.  

The accused, who earned about RM1,500 monthly, also said he needed to bear the cost of his mother's medication and was remorseful for his actions. 

His wife paid the fine. 

On June 9, Zaim was sentenced to seven days in jail after he pleaded guilty to charges of voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation. 

For the first charge, Zaim threatened Amiera Atiqah Shahrizan, 25, by uttering "pecah muka kau sat lagi" (I will break your face).

He was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation. 

For the second charge, he voluntarily caused hurt to the same person under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which provides imprisonment of up to two years or a fine of up to RM2,000 or both, upon conviction. 

In the 59-second video posted by Facebook user Aizacd Zack, a man clad in a red t-shirt is seen getting out of his car, knocking on the driver's window and berating the female driver over her driving when she rolls down the window. 

The female driver tries to explain, but he continues hurling abusive words at her. He is then hits the driver's head more than once. 

Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the female driver lodged a report at the Saujana Utama police station in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, at 10am on Tuesday.
