KUALA LUMPUR: Former radio announcer and Bapakku FM founder Ismahalil Hamzah plans to share his two-year experience in prison on drug charges with listeners soon.
The 50-year-old radio station owner said in an interview with Harian Metro Online yesterday that he would "tell all" in a month's time as he wanted to take a break following his ordeal.
"A lot happened when I was in there. It was painful yet enlightening. I will share my interesting stay in my next radio programme," said Ismahalil, who met singer-songwriter Yasin Sulaiman while in prison.
Ismahalil said he was thankful to God that his stay was shorter than many other inmates he met.
"Some of them had been in there for years. Meeting them helped me to think positively."
Ismahalil was charged with distributing 374.6 grams of cannabis under Section 39B (1)(A) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 at his house in Wangsa Maju on Aug 27, 2021.
The charges against him were dropped by Kuala Lumpur High Court judge Datuk Muhammad Jamil Hussin yesterday.
