Review all allegations made against PN leaders, Hamzah tells AG

KUALA LUMPUR: Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin today called on Attorney-General Tan Sri Idris Harun to review all allegations made against Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders following Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's discharge and acquittal.

The PN secretary-general said the High Court's decision proved that the charges levelled against the former prime minister were politically motivated

"The truth prevails and is siding with Muhyiddin.

"The High Court not only ruled that the charges against him were flawed, baseless and not in line with the CPC (Criminal Procedure Code), but they were also an abuse of court processes.

"With this, such tyranny must end and the mandate of the people following the state polls must be realised by rejecting the PH (Pakatan Harapan) and BN (Barisan Nasional) government led by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim," he said in a statement today.

Earlier today, Muhyiddin was discharged and acquitted on all four charges of abuse of power in relation to the Jana Wibawa programme.

High Court judge Datuk Muhammad Jamil Hussin ruled that charges were defective and in bad faith.

In April, the PN chairman was charged with four counts of using his position as prime minister and Bersatu president for a RM200 million bribe from Bukhary Equity Sdn Bhd at the Prime Minister's Department Complex in the Federal Government Administrative Centre, Putrajaya, between Feb 8 and 25, 2021.

He was also charged with two counts of receiving RM195 million in funds, which were proceeds from unlawful activities between Feb 25 to July 16, 2021 and Feb 8 to July 8, last year.
