KUALA LUMPUR: The remand order against three policemen on suspicion of stealing RM85,000 from a premise during the Mini Dhaka raid would be extended.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay confirmed the matter, adding that they would investigate the matter thoroughly.
"We received the complaint on Dec 21 (Thursday) evening and had detained the officers on Friday. There is no issue of us concealing our officers (from crime).
"We will not tolerate if our officers are allegedly involved in crime. We will conduct an investigation.
"This would not weaken our operations on the colonies of foreigners," he said to the media at Bukit Aman, here, today.
On Friday, City police chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid in a statement said the police had received a report regarding stolen cash amounting RM85,000 at 12.36am on Dec 22.
They had detained three police personnel aged between 26 to 35 years old who are suspected to be involved in the theft.
The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code, where all detained individuals will be remanded for four days from Dec 23 to Dec 26.
