SHAH ALAM: Police shot dead a man who attacked an investigating team with a parang in a bid to evade arrest for killing his girlfriend in Petaling Jaya earlier this week.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the man died at the scene, an apartment area in Bukit Subang, this evening.
"The Selangor police chief will issue a statement on this case," he said briefly.
Iqbal said the man was wanted for stabbing to death his Indonesian girlfriend aged 25 at the Desa Mentari flat on Monday.
He said she was brutally murdered as she had been stabbed eight times.
It was reported that the victim was found dead at a staircase on fifth floor of Block 5.
