ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police arrested three men who illegally accepted bets on a "Bola Golek" board game at two gambling dens in Gelang Patah here on Sunday.
Police also detained 18 foreign men who had allegedly placed bets on the board game, which is similar to roulette.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan said three of the two who allegedly organised the game and collected bets, had a record of drug offences and other crimes.
He said the suspects, aged between 22 and 45, have remanded for investigations under the Open Gaming House Act 1953 for accepting bets without a license.
The foreign gamblers were referred to the Immigration Department for overstaying.
Bola golek is a board game played using a small ball and a set of numbers or symbols on a board.
