KUALA LUMPUR: Thirteen foreign women believed to be working as guest relation officers were arrested in a police raid on office buildings in Jalan Raja Chulan here, early this morning.
Dang Wangi police chief Assistant Commissioner Noor Dellhan Yahaya said the raids from 1.30am to 2.15am was conducted based on intel about entertainment activities.
The police questioned four managers of premises, 37 visitors, 33 workers and 13 foreign women.
Noor Dellhan said the managers, who are Malaysians aged 26 to 60, were arrested.
He said the foreign women — from three Southeast Asian countries — were detained, too, on suspicion of misusing travel douments.
"Police seized musical instruments, including three monitors, two microphone receivers, four microphones, one audio mixer, two digital audio devices, three speakers and four amplifiers," Noor Dellhan said.
The women have been remanded into custody for 14 days, and the managers, for one day, he added.
