PETALING JAYA: The investigation into the murder of 6-year-old autistic boy Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, near Idaman Apartment, Damansara Damai, concluded around 2pm today.
The investigation wrapped up when the vehicle carrying the Federal Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain left the residential area, followed by the vehicle of his deputy, Deputy Commissioner Fadil Marsus.
Five minutes later, all vehicles carrying the investigation team and the police forensics unit left the scene.
The road, which had been sealed by police since 9.45am was then fully reopened.
Checks showed that only Zayn Rayyan's mother, who is a witness and is currently in police custody, was taken to the location for the purpose of reenacting the situation at the scene.
Bernama also reported that police officers were seen carrying the mannequin of a child, but it is not clear what the purpose was.
On Friday, police extended the remand of Zayn Rayyan's parents to allow assist investigations.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan had said the couple would be remanded for six days until June 13.
Previously, the magistrate's court here today granted the remand of Zayn Rayyan's parents.
The couple, both 28 years old, were remanded for investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code after they were arrested at Puncak Alam on May 31.
On Dec 6 last year, Zayn Rayyan was found dead in a stream near Idaman Apartment in Damansara Damai about 10pm.
His body was found by a group of residents about 200m from his residential block after he was reported missing.
