Bodies in car: Police investigate as sudden death, pending autopsy results

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Police are investigating the death of two women, whose bodies were discovered inside a car parked near a residential area in Taman Sri Rambai here yesterday, as sudden death report (SDR) for now.

State police chief Datuk Hamzah Ahmad said this was pending the victims' post-mortems.

"For now, the case is under SDR while we await the post-mortems," he told the New Straits Times.

It was reported that the bodies of the two women in the locked parked Honda WRV was noticed by a passerby at 5.30pm who alerted the authorities.

The two women, believed to be in their 20s, had likely been dead for over five days, as their bodies were bloated and emitted a strong odour.

One of the victims is believed to be from Negeri Sembilan, although their identities have not yet been confirmed.

Hamzah urged those with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
