Cops: Man suspected of sodomising foreigner last week has gone into hiding

PETALING JAYA: The suspect in the sodomy of a foreign man here is believed to have gone into hiding.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Shahrulnizam Ja'afar said the suspect was believed to have fled after the incident.

"We are now in the midst of tracing the whereabouts of the suspect. The suspect has been identified as a 37-year-old local man and is believed to still be in the country," he said when contacted.

It was reported that a foreign national claimed he was sodomised at a condominium here after accepting his alleged perpetrator's invitation for a chat.

The victim said he first met the man several months ago at the condominium gymnasium.

Police received a report from the 25-year-old victim at 9.57pm last Friday.

The victim said the suspect had invited him to his condominium unit for a chat about 5pm on July 4.

Initially, the victim started talking with the suspect in the corridor before entering the latter's unit.

As soon as he entered, the victim claimed that the suspect began undressing him and groping his private parts.

The victim said he did not scream as he did not want the neighbours to hear or see anything that would humiliate him.

He claimed he was then sodomised.

Those with information on the case can contact the Selangor police hotline at 03-20529999.
