PADANG TERAP: A man from Myanmar sustained injuries to his shoulder after being shot at a rubber plantation in Naka here yesterday (July 20).
District police chief Deputy Superintendent Mulkiaman Manzar said the victim, in his 40s, was rushed to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar near here for treatment.
"We received a report from the public about a Myanmar national who had sustained a shoulder injury, suspected to be from a gunshot, while at the rubber plantation in Naka.
"A team was dispatched to the scene and confirmed that the victim had indeed been shot in the shoulder," he said when contacted today (July 21).
He added that the police are tracking the suspect, and the case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
