SLIM RIVER: The police's Sub Aquatic Forensic Unit found a purse and a car key in Sungai Trolak today when scouring for evidence in the Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah murder probe.
The dive team found the first of the two items - the car key - roughly 50m from a bridge in Kampung Batu 4 here at 11.20am.
About an hour later, the team found the purse about five metres from where the car key was found.
Asked if there was any identification car belonging to the victim found in the purse, a member of the dive team responded in the affirmative.
The dive team later concluded the search at about 1pm after they were satisfied with the pieces of evidence found during today's operation.
Earlier, three four-wheel-drive vehicles, believed to be the investigation team, were seen entering the area at 10.35am.
It was reported on Friday that the search for evidence linked to the murder was suspended after the water level at the river rose by more than a metre, and water conditions turned murky, due to heavy rainfall.
Earlier today, the magistrate's court in Kuala Kubu Baru granted the police's request to extend the remand of the suspect arrested in connection with murder, by another seven days.
The suspect, a 26-year-old policeman, will be remanded until July 29, after his initial remand order ended today.
Nur Farah Kartini was reported missing after allegedly delivering a rental car last week. She was found dead near Felda Gedangsa in Hulu Selangor near here on July 15.
