Cops looking for four men who robbed wedding, tailoring supply shop of cash, jewellery

SHAH ALAM: Police are looking for four armed men who robbed a wedding and tailoring supply shop of RM1,000 cash and jewellery yesterday.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the incident occurred about 12.25pm when four men wearing motorcycle helmets entered the premises.

Two of them, he said, were armed, one with a parang and the other with a knife.

"The suspects took around seven minutes to steal RM1,000 from the shop and jewellery from three customers inside," he said in a statement.

No injuries were reported, said Iqbal.

Police, he said, were informed of the incident about 12.40pm via a phone call from one of the customers.

The police are on the search for these suspects and the investigation is conducted under Section 395 and 397 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and armed robbery, which carry a punishment of up to 20 years' imprisonment, with caning.
