ALOR STAR: The body of a two-year-old boy found on Pantai Leman beach in Kuala Kedah here yesterday, has been confirmed as the youngest child of a foreigner suspected of murdering his wife and two children on Monday.
Kota Setar police chief Assistant Commissioner Siti Nor Salawati Saad said the body was identified by the 34-year-old suspect himself.
"The suspect has confirmed that the body was that of his youngest child.
"The victim has a slash wound on his neck," she said in a statement today.
Salawati said the injury was consistent with the slash wound to the neck found on the bodies of the boy's mother and elder sister.
She said the suspect has also identified the bodies of his wife and his daughter.
She said that the victim's body was washed away about 15 kilometres from a drain where it was dumped by the suspect.
Salawati said police have collected DNA samples from the five family members to be sent to the Chemist Department for analysis. Yesterday, it was reported that police believe that the body of a 2-year-old boy on Pantai Leman beach, Kuala Kedah, was linked to a deadly domestic violence case.
On Monday evening, police had arrested a 34-year-old foreigner following the discovery of the bodies of his 34-year-old wife and 10-year-old daughter in a drain behind an abandoned building near Sultan Abdul Halim Highway on Monday.
Yesterday, police were granted a week-long remand against the suspect.
Kedah deputy police chief Deputy Commissioner Adzli Abu Shah had said the man was tested positive for substance abuse involving three different drugs.
His five-year-old son, who was spared by the suspect, has since been placed under the care of the Welfare Department.
