Search for Kedah woman postponed pending new leads

ALOR STAR: The search for Siti Rohani Saad, 37, who went missing since her motorcycle was found near Sungai Titi Haji Idris, Kampung Alor Sekawan, on Friday, has been postponed pending further developments.

Kedah Zone 1 Fire and Rescue Department senior superintendent I Ahmad Aminuddin Abd Rahim confirmed that the search, involving multiple agencies, was halted at 4.30pm today as they await new leads.

"Following discussions with all agencies, we have decided to suspend the operation today, after no significant leads emerged on this third day of the search.

"If new evidence surfaces, the operation will resume," he said.

Aminuddin said today's efforts focused on a one-kilometre radius from where Siti Rohani's motorcycle was discovered.

"We have conducted four dives in the area, with tracking dogs covering the vicinity in four rounds. Surface searches using boats were also carried out four times, but no clues surfaced.

"Today's river current was calmer than yesterday, aided by improved weather conditions," he added.
