ALOR STAR: The bodies of two women, bearing signs of injuries, were discovered in a drain behind an abandoned building along Sultan Abdul Halim Highway here today.
Both women were fully clothed, with one found lying face down and the other facing up, next to each other.
Their identities have not yet been confirmed, but it is believed they were related.
At the scene, a forensics team from the Kedah police headquarters, along with a K-9 unit, conducted a thorough investigation.
The bodies were sent to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital Forensics Department for further examination.
Police, meanwhile, concluded investigations at the site at 8.50pm.
Kota Setar police chief Assistant Commissioner Siti Nor Salawati Saad confirmed the discovery and said an official statement regarding the incident would be issued soon.
