'Shopper' flees with jeweller with bracelets worth RM10,000

ALOR GAJAH: A jeweller here lost RM10,000 worth of gold after a "shopper" ran away with two gold bracelets from her shop.

Alor Gajah police chief, Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah, said the incident occurred at 12.50pm yesterday when the jeweller, Noor Akhmar Abu Bakar was approached by a woman in her 30s or 40s.

The woman first asked to see a gold bracelet, before asking to see another one.

"After being handed the two bracelets, the suspect ran away towards a Toyota Yaris parked in front of the shop," he said in a statement.

A man was seen in the driver's seat.

Ashari said four fingerprints were found at the scene.

The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft in a building.
