Masked intruder robs elderly woman of over RM10,000

KLUANG: A 67-year-old woman was robbed of jewellery and cash worth RM10,130 by a masked intruder in Taman Intan here in the wee hours of Dec 6.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh said the victim was asleep in the living room of her double-storey terrace house when she was awakened at 3am by the masked intruder.

The suspect, described as a slim male, about 155 cm tall, allegedly signalled her to remain silent before covering her mouth with his hand.

He took two gold bracelets and a necklace she was wearing, and ransacked her handbag containing RM2,000, four gold rings and five gemstone rings before fleeing.

The suspect was unarmed.

The victim, who has been living alone in the house for the past 22 years, was unhurt during the robbery.
