JOHOR BARU: The Immigration Department deported 154 foreigners detained at the Pekan Nenas Detention Centre last week.
Among them were two Singaporeans, as well as 82 Myanmars, 50 Indonesians and 20 Bangladeshis.
The Johor Immigration Department in a Facebook post today said that its officers escorted the detainees to ensure a safe and secure passage.
The detainees travelled at their own expense and were issued temporary travel documents by their respective embassies for the journey home.
They had completed prison sentences for offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and Immigration Regulations 1963 for remaining in Malaysia without valid documents.
They were also blacklisted in the department's system and barred from re-entering the country.
