KUALA LUMPUR: The court complex in Jalan Duta here was abuzz when Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad arrived here this morning.
The former prime minister is expected to testify in his defamation suit against Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at the High Court.
On July 20, 2022, Dr Mahathir filed the lawsuit naming Zahid, who is also deputy prime minister, as the defendant.
Several people were seen trying to take selfies with the 99-year-old politician as he was heading to the courtroom.
His suit states that the plaintiff genuinely believes that the defendant's reference in the alleged defamatory statement to "that person", "he", and "Mahathir, the son of Iskandar Kutty", explicitly refers to him.
