Masseur gets jail, rotan over drugs hidden in car speakers [WATCH]

KANGAR: A masseur was sentenced to 30 months in prison and three strokes of the rotan after pleading guilty to four counts of possessing drugs hidden in his car's speakers in January.

Lee Chin Loon, 47, from Taman Ria, Taiping, Perak, pleaded guilty after the charges were read before magistrate Nurshahida Abdul Rahim.

According to the first charge, Lee was found in possession of 26.07gm of cannabis at the Wang Kelian Immigration Control Post at 3pm.

For the second charge, the accused was found in possession of 0.20gm of Erimin 5 pills at the same location and time as the first charge.

Lee was charged under a third count for possession of 500ml of cannabis oil at the same location and time as the first charge.

For the final charge, the accused was found in possession of 3.25gm of cannabis oil extract at the same location and time as the first charge.

The prosecution was conducted by Perlis Customs Department prosecuting officer Nurul Idayu Ismail, while the accused was represented by lawyer Nurul Hanani Che Nor.

The court sentenced Lee to 30 months in prison and three strokes of the cane for the first charge, and imposed a 24-month prison sentence on him for the second charge.

Additionally, the court sentenced Lee to 18 months and 12 months of jail for the third and fourth charges, respectively.

The total prison term of 84 months was reduced to 30 months as all sentences will run concurrently from the date of conviction, which is today (Aug 26).
