KANGAR: Police are seeking public assistance to locate a man who has been missing for nearly a year in Perlis.
The missing individual, identified as 29-year-old Mohd Amir Ishak from Kampung Serdang, Simpang Empat, Kangar, has not been seen since Aug 31 last year and remains unreachable.
Kangar district police chief Assistant Commissioner Yusharifuddin Mohd Yusop said that the search followed a report filed by Amir's 57-year-old mother on May 20.
"At 4.30pm on May 20, we received a report from a 57-year-old woman from Kampung Serdang, Simpang Empat, Kangar, indicating that her son is missing. The missing individual is identified as Mohd Amir Ishak, 29 years old. He has not returned home and remains out of contact," he said in a statement today.
He said that the mother last saw her son leaving their home on Aug 31 last year at 7am.
"When he left, Amir was wearing a grey T-shirt, jeans, and riding a blue Modenas Kriss motorcycle, which he often used. The motorcycle bears the registration number KBT 4582," he added.
Despite ongoing efforts, authorities have been unable to locate Amir within Perlis.
"We urge anyone who has seen, recognised, or has information regarding Amir to come forward," Yusharifuddin added.
